By virtue of the Licensing Act 2003 (“the Act”), as a Licensing Authority, Mid Suffolk District Council is required to produce a Statement of Licensing Policy.

The purpose of the Statement of Licensing Policy is to inform all persons with an interest in the licensing process of the parameters within which Mid Suffolk Licensing Authority (Mid Suffolk District Council) will make licensing decisions (where it’s discretion is engaged) and advises on the legislative framework.

The revised Statement of Licensing Policy approved by Full Council on 8 November 2007, which can be viewed below takes effect from 7 January 2008 for a period of three years (unless sooner revision is required).
