Race Equality Scheme - currently under
consultation
Mid Suffolk District Council aims to provide high quality
services, to all residents, who live within the district. We are
conscious of the importance of race equality as a service provider
and employer, and in the civic leadership we provide.
We are fully committed to fulfilling our statutory duties, under
the race equality legislation and this Race Equality Scheme sets
out the Council’s current position and future arrangements for
meeting the general, and specific duties, in respect of race
equality.
If you would like to comment on this scheme, please send your
comments to Breige Convery (contact details above) by Friday 4

and is due to be published by the end of March 2010.

two main parts. The first part is the council’s policy on and
beliefs on Gender Equality. The second part is the
council’s scheme, which establishes why the council has a Gender
Equality Scheme and what its purpose is. It also clarifies the
council’s duties.
