As a public funded organisation, accountable to the residents we serve, we have a duty to be transparent in its business operations and outcomes.

Freedom of Information (FOI) Requests

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, everybody has the right to request information held by public sector organisations on any subject they choose. Unless there is a good reason, the organisation must provide the information within 20 working days. For further information, please visit our Freedom of Information page.

Member Allowances

Elected Members are entitled to an allowance which recognises their time and commitment to the job. This commitment includes attending meetings of committees and Council and meeting with Officers. For details of the allowances please read our Members Allowances Scheme.

Payments to suppliers

We want to be open about how we spend your money and our payments to supplier page details everything we've spent over £500 inclusive of VAT.

The Council's Constitution describes how we operate and contains all the detailed procedures and rules which we have adopted.

Statement of Accounts

All Councils in the UK are required by law to publish an Annual Statement of Accounts which is compiled in accordance with a code of accounting practice laid down by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).

Our Statement of Accounts gives financial information on all the services we provide during the year as well as the financial position at the year end.
