You can pay your council tax on receipt of the annual bill, or
you have the choice of paying in two half yearly instalments or 10
monthly instalments. If you elect to pay in two half yearly
instalments, your first instalment is due in April, and the second
instalment in October. Payment for 10 monthly instalments is
due on the 14th of the month.
Online Payment
By far the easiest and quickest way to pay your council tax is
by doing so online.

If you experience any difficulty making payment it is important
that you contact us as soon as possible, please do not wait for a
reminder to arrive. If you contact us early before recovery
proceedings have commenced we can consider your position and it may
be possible to agree other arrangements.
Your bill can be paid in any of the following ways.
Direct Debit
Take the worry out of bill paying and let you bank or building
society pay your tax instalments direct to the Council.

You can pay on the 1st or 14th of each month. If you already pay
this way, your bill will tell you what your monthly instalments
will be. If you would like more information on how to pay this way
please contact council tax team.
Telephone banking or standing order
If you would like to set up a Standing Order or your bank allows
you to access your bank account by phone or internet, the details
you will need are;
- Sort code 20-82-75
- Account number 40041300
You will also need to quote your council tax account
reference. Alternatively, you can ring 08456
034713 and we will send you a Standing Order Form.
Using your Credit or Debit Card over the phone
If you would like to pay by your credit or debit card please
call 08456 034713. You will need your council tax
account reference shown on your council tax bill.
Payment by credit card will incur an additional charge of
1.541%
By post
Please send your cheque or postal order direct to:

Cheques should be made payable to Mid Suffolk District
Council and your council tax account reference number
written on the back of the cheque. You can find this number
on the front of your council tax bill.
Please note we cannot accept post dated cheques.
At the Post Office
You can pay your council tax at your local Post Office, there is
an additional transaction fee charged by the Post Office for this
service. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or debit card. You
will need to complete a payment slip at the Post Office quoting our
Giro Account Number 2151227 and your account reference number shown
on your Council Tax Bill. You can find your local Post
Office by using the Post Office's Online Branch Finder
service.
