from the list below:
- once a year for the
year ahead
- twice a year for the
months ahead
- 10 monthly payments. If
a bill is issued after May the number of instalments is
reduced.
Payment dates
We are able to offer a choice of
Council Tax payment dates - on the 1st or the 14th.
If you would like to change your
payment date, contact the
Council Tax section.
Why pay by Direct Debit
There are many good reasons for paying
this way.
- A choice of
dates - You can link the payment of Council Tax more closely to
your monthly budgeting, by paying instalments on the 1st or the
14th of each month, or you can pay half-yearly on the 1st or 14th
of April and October.
- Avoiding
mistakes - We will pay £10 if we make a mistake on a Council
Tax Direct Debit. This means that if we make a mistake in setting
up or amending your bank details, or if we debit the wrong amount,
you will receive £10.
- Savings
-
- Direct Debit saves time
for you
- Costs less for the
Council to process than other payments
- Saves the council
money
- Helps to keep your tax
down.
- Quality - The
Council has won a national 1st prize for the Best Quality Direct
Debit scheme.
