Housing Associations
These are non-profit making organisations, providing a range of accommodation for rent. The rents are market rents and most of the accommodation is unfurnished. Some associations specialise in housing for particular groups such as older people, single people or people with special needs.

How to apply for housing association accommodation

Some housing associations keep a register of people applying for their accommodation but others rely on nominations from Mid Suffolk District Council when they have a vacancy. When providing a nomination to a housing association the council uses the same policy and procedures as when allocating one of its own properties. These are outlined in the Housing Allocations Policy booklet which can be obtained from the council offices in Needham Market.
