‘Not in My Neighbourhood Days are
multi-agency events where local agencies working in partnership,
join with the residents of Mid Suffolk to improve the local
environment. A ‘Not in My Neighbourhood Day’ is very much a
community event where we are looking for residents to participate
to make the day successful. A ‘Not in my neighbourhood day’ can
offer any of the following:
- Advice on issues of crime and safety and information on
Neighbourhood Watch
- Housing advice including Rent, Allocations, Anti-Social
Behaviour and Repairs issues
- Advice from Environmental Health on key concerns relating to
noise, nuisance and dog fouling
- The Recycling Team showing residents how to recycle and provide
activities for children
- Grass, tree, shrub and hedge cutting of communal areas by our
staff from the Waste and Environmental Services department. This
can include weeding of pathways and parking areas
- Talks from the Suffolk Mediation Service. This service is used
for neighbour disputes and will be an opportunity to see how they
operate.
- A chance to meet and talk to a team from the Domestic Violence
Unit
- Tenant participation information and advice from Tenants
Representatives
- Have a chat with local Councillors, your Safer Neighbourhood
Team and Officers from the Council
The Council will be running several ‘Not in my neighbourhood days’
each year so please keep a look out on the website for any new
events that may be coming up.
