The Council is working in partnership with British gas and ESACA to promote the installation of home insulation measures at discounted rates with the incentive to the householder of a Council tax benefit sponsored by British Gas.

Leaflets were enclosed with council tax billings mailed out to tax payers in 2007. Cavity wall and/or loft insulation works are carried out by contractors nominated by British Gas.

Those who take up the offer will be entitled to claim a one off £75 rebate on their council tax. For further information pleases contact 0845 5971 7731 quoting SUFF.
 
Persons in receipt of income related benefits may get the work carried out free through the government Warmfront scheme.

Those over the age of 60, not in receipt of benefits may be eligible for the Council’s own Energy Efficiency Grant.

In the above cases no rebate is applicable.
