The Council is committed to achieving energy efficient improvements in homes to comply with the Home Energy Conservation Acts in order to reduce energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. The commitment is to meet a 30% energy efficient improvement in domestic properties over a 10 year period.

A maximum of 20 grants of £1000 are available towards the cost of installing solar water heating systems. The grants are not means tested or age related and are available to owner occupiers or tenants with a repairing obligation.

The estimates must be obtained via Suffolk Energy action Link (SEAL), a Council run scheme supported by all Suffolk Councils. Work is carried out by fully trained engineers at discounted prices. Prices start from £2900 including VAT for a 3-4 person installation.
