The council operates the Safe and Secure scheme in partnership with Suffolk Constabulary and Age Concern. The scheme aims to provide homes with a range of security measurers, which include:

• door chain and viewer
• outdoor security light
• replacing door locks with a more secure type
• smoke detector
• window locks.
• installation of hardware to enable a community alarm to be installed

Grants may be available to persons aged 60 or over or in receipt of certain income related benefits to cover the cost of these measures.
