Any Affordable Housing scheme is based on successful partnership working. To this end we endeavour to involve local people by engaging with Parish Councils,( A Guide for Parish Councils) and holding Consultation Events ,and keeping District Councillors informed. We will also regularly liaise with the Housing Corporation, Suffolk County Council and Developers. Our other key partners in the process are Housing Associations and the Rural Housing Enabler.

Housing Associations

The Council has a number of partner Housing Associations who own and manage stock within the district, and 4 of these are actively used for developing new affordable housing. These Housing Associations are regulated by the Housing Corporation, and their stock will meet Housing Corporation design, build and managements standards., and they will all have a housing management base local to the Mid Suffolk area.

Rural Housing Enabler

The council contributes to the funding of these posts, who are based and managed by Suffolk ACRE. They provide advice and information to parish councils who wish to identify and address the level of need for affordable housing. They can be contacted as follows:
