Why not step outside this summer and take in the enchanting
sites of Suffolk and discover the myths and magic with some new
arts and storytelling events for all the family.
Babergh and Mid Suffolk ARTS Services and the Suffolk Wildlife
Trust are encouraging families to be inspired by the natural
environment and the wonder of nature at two of their enchanting
sites.
Arger Fen, near Assington, and Redgrave and Lopham Fen, near Diss,
will be playing host to storytelling walks and arts workshops based
on the cycle of the seasons and the ‘Green Man’.
Visual artist Maggie Campbell and storytelling wizard John Row will
be leading the events along with members of the Suffolk Wildlife
Trust.
Those coming along will be able to help Maggie create ‘larger than
life’ Green Man sculptures which will then remain on site for
future visitors to enjoy. Each sculpture will be made using
natural materials found on site and participants can also create
smaller artworks to take away.
The four events will be taking place throughout August on Saturday
7 and Wednesday 18 at Arger Fen, and Sunday 15 and Thursday 26 at
Redgrave and Lopham Fen.
Each session runs from 10am - 4pm and costs £4 adults and £2
children. All activities are suitable for children 5 years
and over.
To book, please contact 01284 728706 for Arger Fen and 01379 688333
for Redgrave and Lopham Fen.
