If you are looking to book an entertaining act for your fete,
get more going on your village hall or want to organise an event
for your community but are not sure where to start, then this event
is for you.
The one day seminar “Down Your Lane – Up Your Street”, will take
place on Thursday 26 March at The Cut in Halesworth. The day aims
to give people ideas for developing events in their communities
across Suffolk and think about doing something extraordinary in
2009.
The seminar will include inspirational speakers from street
fairs to village festivals. Arts interludes will also take place
throughout the day, offering snippets of shows from performers who
will be available to book for events. There will also be the
opportunity for people to pick up practical hints and tips through
workshops and an interactive arts market whereby performers will be
on hand to talk about their work.
Zoey Furzer, Arts Officer at Mid Suffolk District Council said:
“We hope this seminar will provide people with ideas on what’s
possible in programming arts in their communities. We have a
wonderful line-up of speakers and performers, all of whom have a
great deal of experience delivering amazing work and wowing
audiences”.
The event is being organised in partnership by the arts services
at Mid Suffolk District Council and Suffolk Coastal District
Council with generous support from Suffolk County Council.
The cost to attend is £10 including lunch, with concessions
available. To book your space, please telephone: 01394 444538 or
