Looking for something to do this Half Term to keep
the kids entertained? If so, then why not head to Needham Lakes for
a fun-filled packed week of activities.
Families can join storyteller John Row for a stroll around Needham
Lake, listening to weird and wonderful tales en route. Find out
more about John’s wonder tales like ‘Grandfather All Know’,
‘Mossycoat’, ‘Kate Crackernuts’ or ‘The Golden Ram’.
The walk is from 2pm-3.30pm on Tuesday 1 June and is £3 for
children with accompanying adults going free.
For those who fancy a fright, why not join John on a spooky walk
through the Woodland Trust’s Priestly Wood. Listen to scary
tales that will make your hair stand on end as the wood darkens
around you. Not for the faint hearted, this walk is suitable
for adults and children over 10! The walk takes place on
Tuesday 1 June from 8pm-9.30pm, meeting at Barking Church.
Adults are £3 with concessions and children £1.50. To
book your place on either walk, please ring 01449 676800.
For fun and discovery closer to home, come and join us at Needham
Lake to find out how to help wildlife in your own garden. Our
Wild about Your Garden event will inspire you to make your local
area more inviting for beasts, bugs and birds. Even without a
garden, you can still do your bit. Make a newspaper pot,
design a bird feeding picture and many more activities and
information available. This takes place on Friday 4th June
between 12 and 3.30pm, at Mill Meadow, Needham Lake. There’s
no need to book, just turn up on the day for this FREE
event.
There are many more events coming up throughout the summer.
