Mid Suffolk and proud

Mid Suffolk is still one of the best places to live in Suffolk, according to recent results published by the Department of Communities and Local Government.

Residents from across the district were asked to complete a survey and rate the area on a number of different topics, which included satisfaction with the local area, to anti-social behaviour concerns.

The district came top on a number of categories, beating all other district and borough areas in the Suffolk to the top spot.

Councillor Derrick Haley, Portfolio Holder for Resources and Finance said: “Mid Suffolk has been rated one of the best places to live by the people who know best, the residents. Mid Suffolk has a lot to offer, not only to existing residents but to also visitors to the area, from walks in the beautiful countryside, to arts and music at Wingfield Barns to swimming and leisure at Stowmarket Leisure Centre. There is something for everyone in Mid Suffolk.

He continued: “We realise that for the area to score so highly, there is a lot of work that is not only put in by the District Council but by also our partner organisations such as Suffolk Police and Suffolk County Council. We are proud that we able to serve an area that has rated so highly in the residents survey. Last year Mid Suffolk was voted the best place to live in England in a survey by the Halifax and we are committed to keep up these high standards.”
