Shoppers in Stowmarket are guaranteed to find something
different when they shop in the area due to the range of shops
being offered.
A recent survey carried out by Mid Suffolk District Council has
shown that Stowmarket is no clone town – meaning that there is not
row upon row of High Street chain stores and you are guaranteed to
find something that nobody else will have.
Shops in Stowmarket are independently owned and demonstrate that
Stowmarket is a bustling market town that has a wide variety of
local and family run shops such as Hicks. This electrical retailer
has been a prominent feature of Ipswich Street since 1959 and its
friendly service is well renowned.
But it isn’t just a place for shopping; Bury Street has become
the place to a funky new hairstyle!
A recent survey of shoppers found 69% rated the attractiveness
of Stowmarket as good or very good. The safety of the area and
cleanliness of the streets were also highly rated.
The survey also shows that most shoppers come into the town
centre for their food shopping at least one a week, attracted by
the range of local produce available in both the shops and twice
weekly market.
