Site Inspections and Completion

Whether you proceed under the Full Plans or Building Notice procedure it is necessary to notify us at certain stages of the work so that inspections can be carried out. The stages when it is necessary to notify us are:

  • Commencement of work
  • Foundation excavations
  • Concrete in foundations
  • Oversite preparation
  • Damp-proof course
  • Drainage before covering
  • Drainage after haunching or covering
  • Occupation of the building or part of the building

Additional inspections may also be necessary at other stages during the course of the work.

Completion Certificate

When all work has been inspected and satisfactorily completed a completion certificate will be issued. This certificate is required when selling the property or obtaining a mortgage. The certificate provides evidence to any prospective purchaser or mortgage company that building work has been carried out in accordance with the Building Regulations.
