Core Strategy News -

Core Strategy - Mr Robert Yuille MSc DipTP MRTPI of the Planning Inspectorate conducted the Core Strategy Examination, which opened on Thursday 29th May 2008 and closed on Wednesday 11th June 2008.

In accordance with guidance from the Government Office for the East of England (Go-East) and the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) an LDF document, in this case the Core Strategy, is currently a material consideration and the strength of that consideration increases the closer it gets to adoption. Local Authorities, however, must consider Planning Applications in line with the adopted documentation at the time of the decision.

A DPD becomes effective for planning decisions from the date of issue of the Inspector's Report as it is a legally binding document. Mid Suffolk expects to receive the Inspector’s Report in August 2008 (contact Planning Policy for latest information). The Inspector's report will be uploaded onto this web page immediately and the recommendations will then be incorporated into the Core Strategy.
