The Proposals Map is not an independent document; it merely
expresses geographically all the land use policies and proposals in
the DPDs at a scale that allows them to be clearly understood.
It is produced on an Ordnance Survey base map and shows the
allocations, designations and locations where specific policies and
proposals apply, for example:
- Housing and employment allocations;
- Nationally designated areas such as SSSIs and SACs;
- Recreation allocations;
- Hazardous installations;
- Conservation Areas;
- Retail and car park allocations;
For areas such as towns and villages with detailed designations and
development proposals, Inset Maps are provided at a sufficiently
large scale to clearly illustrate the policies and proposals of the
DPDs. The Inset Maps form part of the Proposals Map.
The Core Strategy DPD does not require a Proposals Map, but the
proposals map will be revised when any new DPD is adopted including
site specific allocations or matters that may affect the proposals
map.
