Mid Suffolk District Council along with Ipswich Borough Council, Babergh District Council and Suffolk Coastal District Council have commissioned Fordham Research Group Ltd to carry out a Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA). This will inform Mid Suffolk's planning and housing policies.

A SHMA is a piece of research aimed at estimating housing need and demand. All types of housing are considered, including social rented housing, intermediate housing (shared equity and other Homebuy options), private rented housing and home ownership.

The Draft SHMA Report is out for consultation from 16 June to 25 July and can be viewed from the following Ipswich Borough Council administered website.
