SFRAs are a requirement of PPS25 and are initially used to refine information on the areas that may flood, taking into account other sources of flooding (rivers, land, groundwater, sewers and artificial sources) and the impacts of climate change as well as information on the flood map. The SFRA is primarily an allocations document and its secondary purpose is for planning control use.
The SFRA will inform the sustainability appraisal of Mid Suffolk’s Local Development Documents, and will provide the basis from which to apply the Sequential Test and Exception Test in the development allocation and development control process.
