This service allows members of the
public or businesses to take copies of certain planning documents.
In some cases members of the public may have had planning
permission or moved into a property which has previously had
planning permission and need a copy of the decision notice. The
council can supply a copy of decision notices if the detail is not
available via our planning application
search pages.
Some other documents may also be requested such as copies of the
plans or site location maps within an application. If the
application is live and no decision has been made then copies of
these documents can be made, there may be an
administrative charge for multiple copies. If the decision has
been made on an application then the copyright on plans comes into
force and we would need written consent of the originator of the
plans before we could copy these.
A live application file is considered to be in the public domain
so most documents contained within the file are available for
copying.
A decided application is not considered to be in the public
domain so more rules apply before copies of documents can be
made.
