Welcome to the Planning and Building area, here you can find information about:

  • Planning Policy; responsible for the forward planning of the District, creation of the LDF (Local Development Framework) and the monitoring of development;
  • Planning Services; guidance including how to submit a new planning application and how to find out about current planning applications in the district.
  • Building Control for information and guidance on construction and building, Building Control is responsible for Building Regulations, Dangerous Structures, Demolitions and Street Naming and Numbering.  Building Control are also able to produce Energy Assessments and Energy Performance Certificates. 
  • Street Naming and Numbering are responsible for ensuring a good standard of street naming and numbering is provided and maintained within the Mid Suffolk area.  Street Naming and Numbering is responsible for schemes on new developments, property name changes, additional or changes to a street name sign and replacement street signs.

Core Strategy Focused Review 'Proposed Submission' Publication
Mid Suffolk District Council is conducting a review into the Provision and Distribution of Housing Policy (CS8), the Employment Chapter and the Sustainable Development definition in the Core Strategy.  Closing date: 5pm 22nd February 2012

The webpages allowing citizens to view and comment on planning applications have been upgraded. Existing users will need to re-register to use this service. Apologies for this inconvenience. There are many new features available including

  • the ability to track specific applications
  • save searches and have the results emailed directly to you
  • measure and scale drawings online
  • review comments made by others
