Mid Suffolk Discovery Project

The Discovery Project is an environmental education project, launched in
2007. We are working with schools, local groups and residents to raise
awareness, understanding and enjoyment of Mid Suffolk's natural and built heritage. This can range from leading environmental education activities with schools at our countryside sites, in school grounds or a local green space, to organising guided walks with local experts, providing volunteering opportunities or holding fun events.

The Discovery Project works closely with the Countryside Team, building on the educational and informal activities already run and developing new opportunities. Your local area and local heritage is important. We want people to enjoy and make use of what is on offer.

Educational resources for schools and information for the public are being developed as part of the Discovery Project.

The Discovery Project has been made possible thanks to a five-year grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), two grants funded by Natural England through Defra’s Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund (ALSF), support from Mid Suffolk District Council and Suffolk County Council's Corporate Regeneration Fund.

The Discovery Project web pages will be updated and added to as the Project progresses and resources are developed.
