MSDC will attend to and remove any reported abandoned shopping trolleys within 24 hours, unless on private land, whereby we will then seek permission from the landowner before any removal takes place.

We are currently reviewing our procedures in accordance with the new Clean Neighbourhoods & Environment Act 2005 and hope to set up a local agreement between supermarkets to help deal with abandoned shopping trolleys more effectively.
