Do you want to take part in a community clear
up?
Many parishes throughout the district find this time of year a
great opportunity to have a "spring clean". Local Authorities in
Suffolk have got together to promote
"Spring Clean for
Suffolk", which actively encourages communities to
organise and take part in activities such as litter-picking.
A two week period has been designated during 31st March -
13th April, where Local Authorities can provide
equipment loan, bags for collection and local publicity.
Don’t worry if your Parish is/or would like to have a clean up
out-with the "Spring Clean for Suffolk" dates, MSDC can still
provide equipment loan and any other help required at any time of
the year.
Many parishes in Mid Suffolk have already planned their clean
up, which we will endeavour to advertise and update here, so watch
this space….
Planned clean up’s so

If your Parish isn’t on the list, why not contact your local parish
or local group and organise your own, it’s a great way to meet your
community and work together to create a cleaner, greener &
safer environment!
A community clear up is a great way of showing that your group
cares about its local surroundings. It will also encourage others
not to litter and take pride in where they live. MSDC have produced
a helpful booklet, providing guidance on how to undertake a safe
clear-up, it also provides tips on how to encourage others to get
involved and maximise publicity for your event.
MSDC can also provide loan of equipment such as litter pickers,
hi-vis vests, and gloves for your event. We can also provide black
bags and clear bags for any recyclable that you might
collect, which we can then arrange to have cleared following an
event, free of charge.
For more information or to enquire about equipment loan, contact
Gillian Brown on 01449 724946.
