The Minor Grants scheme (for awards up to £1,000) is designed to
offer support to voluntary and community groups to set up a new
project or kick-start activity within their chosen field.
Projects supported in the past have included: the purchase of
equipment by youth clubs; the setting up of exercise clubs for
older people; community festivals and fun days; the purchase of
equipment for groups in order that they can carry out their aims;
the creation of youth magazines and support for befriending /
contact services for the elderly, disabled or otherwise excluded
minorities.
Minor Grants to a maximum of £500 are also made available to
support the carrying out and completion of Parish Plans within the
Mid Suffolk District.
The general Criteria for MSDC grants are available by clicking
on the menu link to the left however specific expectations apply to
Minor Grants.
These are:
· A group may only apply for such a grant, to fund the same
project, for two successive years. Only under extreme circumstances
will a grant for a third year be considered.
· It is expected that any grant awarded will be spent within
twelve months of the award being made.
