Suffolk Artlink

The arts service works in partnership with the county inclusion arts agency, Suffolk Artlink , to ensure that any social and institutional barriers preventing people from participating in, and enjoying, the art are diminished.

With the help of a 3-yr service level agreement, Suffolk Artlink are delivering a bold and imaginative programme of activities in Mid Suffolk for those people who feel excluded from participating in the arts.

Activities include:

Eye Junk Funk Group
Think African drumming/Taiko plus Stomp-ish choreographed routines. Weekly sessions for young people aged 1-16 take places at Eye Community Education Centre every Friday.

Culture Club
Exciting and varied programme of creative activities and events for older people. Activities range from monthly book club or theatre group sessions to digital photography or creative writing. Creative Care
Creative care is a training programme for care workers and volunteers in residential and day care setting to enable them to deliver creative activities. The course aims to improve the quality of creative activities the acre workers are able to deliver within their care settings thereby improving the quality of life for older people in care.

Open Doors
Professional arts training programme for adults with learning difficulties aged 19+. It provides a progression of opportunities for its participants to learn about working in creative organisations through a series of taster days, short courses and a 30 week part time accredited arts training course.
