Today sees the launch of a consultation following an application made by Rickinghall Parish Council to designate the area covered by their Neighbourhood Development Plan.
The six week consultation went live this morning (15 March 2017), after Rickinghall and Botesdale Parish Councils agreed to work together to prepare a joint Neighbourhood Plan. This will be the first multi-parish neighbourhood plan to come forward in Mid Suffolk. The area being proposed follows the boundary of the parishes of Botesdale, Rickinghall Superior and Rickinghall Inferior. Mid Suffolk District Council are now keen to hear the views from people who live, work and carry out business in this area on whether the proposed boundary is appropriate or not.
Details including a map of the area can be found online at:
Comments can be submitted by email to: email@example.com
Alternatively, they can be sent by post marked:
FAO Mr Paul Bryant, Business Support Officer - Community Planning
Mid Suffolk District Council

Responses must be received before 4:00pm on Friday 28 April 2017. Comments will be kept on a public file and may be reproduced publicly in writing or on the Mid Suffolk website.
Please note that issues on specific planning matters in Botesdale or Rickinghall are not appropriate to this consultation; instead these should be saved for when the Parish Councils begin to engage with their communities.
Neighbourhood planning allows communities to develop their own planning policies which will guide new development and help meet the needs of the community. When completed the Neighbourhood Development Plan will be put to a local referendum and, if adopted, it will be used by Mid Suffolk District Council, as the Local Planning Authority, when deciding planning applications in this area.
