Haughley Neighbourhood Plan

The Haughley Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) is being prepared by Haughley Parish Council. When complete it may set out the views of the community about:

  • Establishing planning policies for the development and use of land;
  • Locations within the parish where new homes, employment and community uses should be located, and
  • the appearance and design of any new buildings constructed

Stage 1. Area Designation (Nov 2015)

In August 2015, the Parish Council submitted an Area Designation Application to define the boundary of their Neighbourhood Plan area. The area as submitted includes (with the permission of Harleston Parish Council) that part of Harleston that lies north of the A14 and excludes that part of Haughley that lies south of the A14. The publication period began on 25 September 2015 and closed on 31 October 2015. Under the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended), Mid Suffolk District Council confirmed the designated NDP Area on 11 November 2015.
