European Elections 2019

There are 751 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). Of those, 73 represent the UK. Elections for the European Parliament take place every 5 years. The next election will be in May 2019.

When does the European Parliamentary Election take Place?

The government has made it clear it intends to leave the EU before the date of European Parliament elections. If the UK is still in the EU on Thursday 23 May then polls will take place on that day in the UK.
