Drainage

Blocked drains can be a source of confusion for tenants, especially when it's not always clear who is responsible for a blockage.

Establishing the cause of the blockage will help you clarify who is responsible for the cost of fixing it.

Please read our Fact sheet on drainage issues for guidance on common causes of blocked drains - and what we, as your landlord, are responsible for.

Electrical rewiring

During the lifespan of any property, there will come a time where the installed electrical wiring may no longer meet current standards.

The whole property, or parts of it, may need rewiring.

Please read our Electrical rewire guidance for tenants if your home is having a full or partial rewire, so that you know what to expect.

Electric storage heaters

Electric storage heaters are a great way to save energy during off-peak periods - especially overnight - but they need to be used correctly.

Keep the input constant at the amount you need, but turn the output down to a minimum during times where you don’t need the heating on (or turn it off at the wall).
