Our housing team have put in place measures to prevent the future eviction of any council tenant who cannot pay their housing rent as a direct result of Covid-19.

Gateway to Homechoice – Response to Coronavirus

Further to updated Government guidance, issued on 13 May, we will resume advertising social housing properties on Thursday 4 June 2020.

From 4 June, some available properties will be advertised on the Gateway to Homechoice site while some might be directly let to applicants who meet criteria stated within Section 3 of the Local Lettings Plan.

To begin with, you will not be able to move across local authority boundaries, unless you have a specific connection to more than one local authority. This is to ensure that each local authority is able to meet its own housing need within its own area first, we will let you know when cross-boundary moves are permitted again.

Please be aware that it may take longer than usual to complete shortlisting over the next few weeks, so we ask you to bear with us at this time

If you are invited to view a property and have any of the symptoms of COVID-19 please do inform the relevant housing provider that you have these symptoms and that you are self-isolating. Some providers may send you videos/photos of the properties instead of inviting you to view a property in person.

If you viewed a property prior to lockdown, please contact the relevant landlord of the property who will be able to provide you with an update on the property.
