Right to Buy for Council Tenants

Right to Buy helps council and housing association tenants to buy their home at a discount.

The biggest discount you can receive is £87,200 (excluding London).

Homes not available for Right to Buy

Not every home is available for Right to Buy. There are a number that are excluded. These include:

• sheltered housing
• housing used for temporary housing
• housing let in connection with employment, e.g. a caretaker's house
• housing that is particularly suitable for elderly persons
