Change the external colour of a listed building?

We do not normally request a formal Listed Building Consent application to be submitted in order to change the external colour of a listed building or its joinery; unless a more extensive alteration is proposed, such as changing the finish type from lime wash to masonry paint, painting a currently unpainted surface, or changing the colour of the building which would affect the listed building's special interest or character. We do, however, ask that you complete and return the form below to determine acceptability of the proposed alterations to colour, prior to carrying out any changes.

This process only applies for listed buildings and is not necessary for properties which are within a designated conservation area.
