Woolpit Neighbourhood Plan

The Woolpit Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) is being prepared by Woolpit Parish Council and the local community. When completed, it will be used to help guide and shape future development in the parish.

Reg 17 Independent Examination (March 2020 .. )

Mid Suffolk District Council have appointed Janet Cheesley BA (Hons) DipTP MRTPI to carry out an independent examination of the Woolpit NDP. The examination has now commenced and further updates will be published below as and when appropriate via the Examination Correspondence document. 

Guidance published by NPIERS in 2018 also introduced the opportunity for NDP Groups to view and comment on the representations made at the Reg 16 stage.

Reg 16 Submission Consultation (16 Dec 2019 – 7 Feb 2020)

In accordance with Regulation 16 of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations, 2012 (as amended) the District Council undertook formal consultation on the content of the Woolpit NDP to see if it fulfils the Basic Conditions as required by Paragraph 8(1)(a)(2) of Schedule 4B of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (inserted by the Localism Act 2011). The consultation period ran from Mon 16 December 2019 to Fri 7 February 2020.

Woolpit Parish Council (the qualifying body) had formally submitted the following documents:

An assessment as to whether the Woolpit NDP fulfils the Basic Conditions will be undertaken by the Independent Examiner (see 'Latest News' above). A initial check has been undertaken to confirm that the relevant requirements had been met at this stage. View the Reg 15 Checklist

Respondents were also reminded that their comments would be forwarded to the Independent Examiner and, with the exception of personal contact details, will be published on this website.

SEA / HRA Screening & Determination (May 2019)

The Pre-submission draft version of the NDP was assessed to determine whether a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and/or a Habitats Assessment (HRA) were required. The outcome was that the need for both were 'screened-out'. A copy of the relevant reports and Notices of Determination are published below:
