Make a Pre-application Enquiry
To apply for pre-application advice, you need to complete the Pre-planning enquiry form below. The form includes a fee, which needs to be paid.
Please read our free online planning guidance if you have questions about your proposal before you submit a pre-application enquiry.
The aim of this service is to encourage pre-application conversations and offer professional advice within a target timescale.
The response will provide advice about the need for planning permission, and whether it's likely that your proposal will be granted planning permission.
If we believe it is unlikely your proposal would be supported, we will give you reasons for our opinion.
Advice provided is an informal opinion only. Planning Officers cannot predict every issue which may arise during the progress of an application.
The advice is therefore made without prejudice to the consideration by the Council of a planning application.
The final decision on formal planning applications lies with the Development Control Committee or the Corporate Manager - Growth and Sustainable Planning.
The decision will be made following consultation and publicity, in addition to consideration of all representations received as part of the planning application process.
