Brome Community Recycling Centre

The centre is not run by Mid Suffolk District Council and is not part of the Household Waste Recycling Centre network.

The centre is run by KHK Recycling and charges have to be made for certain types of waste, to pay for disposal and the costs of running the facility.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday: 10am – 2pm

Wednesday, and Sunday: Closed

Batteries (Domestic type or vehicle - clarify) - No charge

Cooking Oil - No charge

Soft Plastics - bottles, food trays & containers - No charge

Commercial/Builders Waste - Priced accordingly, call for a quote

Hardcore/Rubble/Soil - £2.00 per 25kg bag

Gas Bottles -  £3.00 per item

Fridges/Fridge Freezers - £10.00 per item

Domestic Appliances - £6.00 per item

Carpet/Underlay - £5.00 per item

TVs - £3.00 per item

Mattress (Single) - £6.00 per item

Mattress (Double/Queen/King Size) - £10.00 per item

Wooden Door - £3.00 per item

Sofa (2 & 3 seater) - £10.00 per item

Corner Sofa - £15.00 per item

Armchair - £6.00 per item

Bed Base (Wooden) - £5.00 per item

Unacceptable Items

We are NOT able to accept the following items at this site:

  • Asbestos, Paints/Solvents, Plasterboard inc. gypsum, Tyres, Explosives, Clinical Waste, Animal Waste/Pet Bedding

To arrange a collection of hazardous waste including asbestos, paints/solvents, please see Hazardous Waste Collection services provided by your local council.

Plasterboard is only accepted at four Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) in Suffolk:

Plasterboard is not classed as a household waste product (according to the Controlled Waste Regulations) and therefore a small charge will be made to dispose of this type of waste.
