Damaged or missing bins

Damaged bins

If your bin is damaged (such as a broken lid or missing wheel) then we can repair the bin free of charge.

If the bin cannot be fixed, we will replace it. All replacement bins will be clean and useable - but they might not be new.

 Report a damaged bin

Once you have reported a damaged bin, please leave the bin out and accessible, so our repair operative can access it. We aim to repair or replace damaged bins as soon as possible, but this may take a few weeks during busy periods.

If you are able to, please continue to use the bin as normal until fixed or replaced.

Missing bins

Before you report your bin as missing, please check that a neighbour has not taken it by mistake. Please also check that your bin has not been left somewhere else on your road.

We advise that you clearly label your bin with your house name or number.

In some circumstances, there may be a charge of £41.25 to replace a missing refuse (general rubbish) bin. All replacement bins will be clean and useable - but they might not be new.

Report a missing bin

If you have reported your bin as missing, but it's now been found, please email Waste Services. We will then cancel delivery of the replacement bin.
