Information for candidates and agents
Prospective candidates and agents for the Suffolk County Council elections in the Babergh or Mid Suffolk area Divisions are encouraged to register their contact details with the Deputy Returning Officer (DRO). This will enable the DRO to keep candidates and agents updated prior to the formal election timetable.
Candidates for the Combined County Authority Mayoral elections will be able to request electoral registers and postal voter lists for the Babergh and Mid Suffolk area (please see the relevant subsection below). For nominations and all other election queries, prospective candidates should take direction from the Combined County Authority Returning Officer (CCARO) through the Norfolk and Suffolk website.
Candidates and agents for County, District, and Unitary elections, will now be asked to provide candidates contact details. At close of nominations these will be communicated to the police's Force Elected-Official Advisor (FEOA). More information about the FEOA can be found on the Electoral Commission website.
Candidates and agents are invited to use our dedicated email address for electoral correspondences. We offer an informal checking service during the nomination period and ask that you book a date and time with us so that you can formally hand in your nomination papers.
Please email candidates.agents@baberghmidsuffolk.gov.uk
