The Suffolk County Council (SCC) elections are due to take place on Thursday 7 May 2026.
Further details about the SCC elections will become available on the Suffolk County Council website.
All electors who are currently registered and eligible to vote will receive a poll card before polling day, which will let you know where you need to cast your vote.
On polling day, polls will be open from 7am to 10pm.
On Thursday 7 May 2026, electors in the following areas will also have additional ballots to vote on:

| Tuesday 28 April | Deadline (by 5pm) to apply for a voter authority certificate. You need to apply if you vote at a polling station and do not have one of the accepted forms of photo ID |

| Thursday 7 May | Polling day. Polling stations open from 7am to 10pm |

To vote in an election, you must be registered.
If you've recently turned 18, or moved house, you may not be registered. You can register to vote online.
If you would like to vote in person at a polling station, you will need valid Voter ID.
If you are unable to attend the polling station, you can apply to vote by post. You are also able to apply for a proxy vote.
