Disability reduction

If you qualify for the Disability Reduction Scheme, the Council Tax you will be charged for your property will be in the Valuation Band below the one that your home is actually in.

This means that if your property is actually banded in Band C, then with the Disability Reduction you will be charged Council Tax at Band B. For Band A properties your Council Tax will be reduced by one sixth.

To qualify for Disability Reduction you must meet the following two conditions:

    • A room which is used to help meet the needs of┬áthe person with a disability, such as a room put aside for dialysis.
