Taxis and Private Hires

Public safety is the main reason for the licensing requirements in regard to taxis and private hire vehicles, drivers and operators. Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils will only grant licences if it is satisfied that driver and operator applicants are 'fit and proper' persons to hold a licence and if vehicles are considered to be safe, suitable and comfortable.
