Mid Suffolk Chair raises a tasty sum for Food Museum
During his term as Chair, Cllr Pratt hosted several fundraising events and with the generous support of residents raised £1,200 for the Food Museum in Stowmarket, the UK’s only museum dedicated to educating people about where their food comes from and the impact their choices have on the environment, society, health and wellbeing.
Cllr Pratt said:
“It has been my pleasure to support the Food Museum during my year as Chair of Mid Suffolk District Council. The Food Museum, through their charity programme, do fantastic work with the community – providing free cooking activities for school age children, integration and community-building events for refugees, and a community referral programme working with the NHS.”
Jenny Cousins, Food Museum Director, said:
“We appreciate the support and fundraising efforts by Cllr Pratt. During these difficult financial times, this generosity will enable us to continue to help people understand more about the food they eat as we deliver learning sessions to local schoolchildren and visitors.”
Mid Suffolk’s new Chair for 2025/26 is due to be announced at Full Council on Thursday 15 May.
