Pioneering partnership helps Suffolk residents ‘Feel Good Vibes’ this summer

15/07/25
Feel Good Suffolk is launching a new campaign to promote the free support available to help the county’s residents enjoy a healthier summer.

The Feel Good Vibes campaign is about inspiring people to enjoy healthier lifestyles – by stopping smoking, managing their weight and being more active, with help from trained advisors.

Feel Good Suffolk is ready to offer support whenever people need it, and when they’re ready to make a change, with trained advisors on hand and a dedicated website with a wealth of supporting information, and the option to make a referral, at www.feelgoodsuffolk.co.uk

A unique partnership, Feel Good Suffolk brings together Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils, Ipswich Borough Council East Suffolk Council, West Suffolk Council and Suffolk County Council, working closely with NHS Suffolk and North East Essex (SNEE ICB) Integrated Care Board and the Norfolk & Waveney Integrated Care Board.

Speaking on behalf of all the Feel Good Suffolk partners, Stuart Keeble, Suffolk’s Director of Public Health said:

“The new Feel Good Vibes campaign is about encouraging people to take steps to feel better and healthier this summer, with our supportive team available to provide expert advice and help.

“We know the immediate benefits that can come from small changes – leading to big differences to someone’s quality of life.

“We also know how much of a challenge it can be, for example, to quit smoking, which is why Feel Good Suffolk is here to help people every step of the way. If you live in Suffolk and are finding it hard to quit smoking, lose weight, or be more active, you’re not alone, and Feel Good Suffolk is here to help.”

Feel Good Suffolk has already helped thousands of people since its launch in 2023 – including Lowestoft resident Victoria, who has seen major improvements to her health since attending a Feel Good Suffolk stop smoking group.

“Our group leader is amazing,” she said. “You know you can talk to her about different ways you’re going to give up smoking and, if something doesn’t work, you can go back and try something else. I have had health problems, and this is the one thing I can take control over. You just keep going and persevering, and it makes you feel so much better.”

Over 1,600 people in Suffolk have successfully quit smoking with support from Feel Good Suffolk between January 2024 and June 2025. In the same period, more than 3,000 people have been helped to manage their weight. 94% of clients rate their experience as ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’.

Feel Good Suffolk free support includes:

•    a dedicated website, telephone and local support groups
•    guidance to set achievable goals and develop a plan
•    practical advice and proven techniques for stopping smoking and becoming more active, including access to nicotine replacement therapies and advice on local walking groups
