Locality Awards

Locality Awards are a ‘light-touch’ Community Grant which allow District Councillors in Mid Suffolk to support small-scale community groups and projects or contribute towards larger projects taking place in their local area. Each Councillor has a budget of £7,350 to allocate.

Eligible projects range from improvements to community facilities and sports clubs, to wildflower planting, and the purchasing of equipment for youth groups or community shops.

All applications must benefit the communities in which the funded activity is taking place. Full eligibility criteria - as well as a breakdown of eligible projects - can be found within our Locality Awards Guidance:

The application form must be completed by both the applicant organisation, and a District Councillor. We recommend that you discuss your project with your District Councillor before you submit your application.

Applications for 2024/25 Locality Awards can be submitted from Monday 1 April 2024.
