Petitions

Mid Suffolk District Council has an e-petition system for submitting petitions. This is to allow petitions and any supporting information to be made available to a wider audience than a traditional paper based petition.

E-petitions submitted to the Council must include the following to be considered valid:

  • The contact address of the petition organiser
  • A clear and concise statement covering the subject of the petition
  • What action the petitioners wish the Council to take

The petition organiser and all signatories must live, work, or study in Mid Suffolk for their signatures to be considered valid. All signatories with addresses outside of Mid Suffolk will be dismissed. For practical purposes, a petition must receive at least 20 signatures before being assigned for further Council involvement.

More information regarding our petition validation process can be found in our petition scheme.
