If possible, please try to resolve your query online, before contacting us. We have put together a comprehensive set of frequently asked questions about Council Tax, which we hope will help you with this.

Customers who live in Mid Suffolk are able to create an online account (a 'MyAccount') and access Council Tax and Business Rates services online.

This online system is available for Council Tax and Business Rates (non-domestic) payers. Information for Business Rates payers can be accessed at the bottom of this webpage, jump to Business Rates section.

Register for an account

This will help you sign up for a paperless account and create an online account

To register for a MyAccount for the first time, you will need your latest Council Tax bill to hand. You will need to quote your Council Tax account reference number. This information is printed towards the top right-hand corner of your bill or within your eBilling email.

If you live in Mid Suffolk, your account reference number will be eight digits long and will begin with the number '5'.

Sign in to your account

If you have already created a MyAccount, you can sign in via the relevant link below. You will need your username and password to hand.

Username and password reset emails

If you have forgotten your username and/or password, you will be able to rest these. This process includes an email, sent to you, with a reset invitation link.

Sometimes, these emails enter a customer's junk or spam folder. If you have requested a new username or password and have not received the reset email, please check the folder(s) before contacting us.

What can I do online?

There are lots of things you can do via our online system. You do not necessarily need a MyAccount for all of them.

Pay Council Tax online

All our customers are able to pay their Council Tax online, via our online form. This form serves customers in both Babergh and Mid Suffolk.

You do not need a MyAccount to pay.

You will need your Council Tax account reference number, which can be found on your latest bill or eBill.

Claiming Housing Benefit?

If you have a Council Tax account, you will also be able to view your benefit claim online.
