The Notice of Intention to Commence Local Plan Preparation is prepared and published in accordance with the requirements of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026 (Regulation 19).

The Local Plan is being prepared by Babergh District Council and Mid Suffolk District Council. Mid Suffolk District Council have prepared this notice.

The Local Plan will cover the administrative districts of Babergh and Mid Suffolk. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) code for the Babergh District Council area is E07000200 and for the Mid Suffolk District Council area is E07000203. The Joint Local Plan area is shown on the map below.

Babergh and Mid Suffolk Joint Local Plan 2026 – 2045. The Local Plan will not cover minerals and waste, as Suffolk County Council is the planning authority for these matters.
