Main modifications consultation
In accordance with section 23 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 as amended and at the request of the Inspector (Mrs Gregory) following the examination of the Core Strategy Focused Review, Mid Suffolk District Council has published the list of the main modifications that it proposes to the document for comments to be gathered before she considers her recommendation.

Consultation into the National Planning Policy Framework including the Presumption in favour of sustainable development and Planning policy for traveller sites
The NPPF introduced a presumption in favour of sustainable development. To assist Councils who are in the course of preparing Local Plans, The Planning Inspectorate has proposed a model policy.
Inclusion of this policy would address the government’s expectation for this presumption to be made clear in plans that are currently being assessed.

The National Planning Policy Framework requires that it should be read in conjunction with “Planning policy for Traveller sites”
Consultation was held on the matters raised by these documents as far as they related to the examination of the Core Strategy Review or the Stowmarket Area Action Plan. 9 representations were received by 5:00pm on Thursday 7th June 2012:
